What is a Solidarity Network?

At the request of the Palestinian community, UCP in Palestine has implemented an international solidarity network of individuals and chapters which is committed to supporting the safety of Palestinian communities and advocating for their continued existence.

The UCP in Palestine Solidarity Network stands in solidarity with Palestinian communities to let them know that people all over the world see and care about what is happening to them and that they are not alone. The first connection was created in August 2025 with Ras al-Auja, a Bedouin community in the South Jordan Valley.

What Do Solidarity Chapters Do?

  • Members can take part in monthly Zoom meetings with Ras Al Auja to hear their stories on their own terms.  Groups are encouraged to be creative, depending on their time and resources.  Pictures, post cards, and signs can be created and sent. Chapters can forge specific relationships between schools/university/faith groups and community members, organizing meetings, exchanges, pen pals etc.

  • Disseminate information to local community leaders, elected and appointed officials, media, and other community groups, not only on the broader struggle for Palestinian rights, but specifically on the current situation for the community of Ras Al Auja.  The knowledge shared will be personal – community to community, learning the stories, challenges, and many strengths of families – mothers, fathers, and children - in order to personalize the suffering caused by the occupation.  The nature of the information sharing will be unique in that it will be prospective – that is, forming relationships so that if a violent incident occurs, we will be ready as a community to act as advocates and supporters.

  • Respond to Action Alerts when opportunities exist to influence national and international leaders to enact laws and choose actions in support of Palestinian human rights. Solidarity Networks are in a unique position to provide more than talking points and stereiotypes. We can talk about Palestinians as real people whos stores we know and care about.

  • UCP In Palestine has started a pilot project in the Occupied Palestinian terrritories by bringing six experienced unarmed civilian protectors to Ras al-Auja for six months. Extending and expanding the pilot is dependent on additional funding. Solidarity members are one possible source of that funding.
